Meg & Connor got married at the Decatur House in Washington, DC in May of 2025. They had a classic DC wedding, with black and whites and Americana details. The ladies got ready at the Mayflower hotel, and then everyone met at the historic Decatur House for first looks and pictures.
After their guests entered through the Decatur House foyer, they were welcomed with a tray of Miller Lites and John Dalys. Their ceremony was held on the patio, with sunshine coming through the clear top tent. Meg’s close family friend officiated the ceremony, and made it feel like we were invited to a sweet afternoon in her living room, just getting to witness Meg and Connor’s sweetest every day love.
After cocktail hour in the Carriage House, the guests returned to the patio for a delicious dinner and special speeches. For their design they had paisley linens, white and black details, and a statement serpentine table in the middle of the tent. Once dinner was complete, the guests were ready to dance inside the Carriage House on the cutest black and white dance floor to the live band. Meg made a few custom tambourines with their logo on it, and friends made sure to use them on the dance floor.
They made sure to have so many delicious and unique food elements. For cocktail hour, guests enjoyed live shucked Top Shelf Oysters from a local farm in Virginia, and a Pittsburgh cookie table, where their family brought so many different types of cookies to munch on. Their passed appetizers included crab cakes, a spicy tuna cone, bulgogi tacos served in limes, pork donuts, and more. Once the dancing began, there were freshly piped Cannoli’s with multiple choices of toppings. Then to top off the food experience, guests were handed Chick-fil-A sandwhiches and nuggets as they walked out the door to go to the after party.
It was a beautiful day to celebrate the Murphys!
