Monica & Ryan married on a lovely April day in the spring of 2025, surrounded by 65 of their closest family members and friends in the heart of Washington, DC.
The day began in Navy Yard, where Monica & Ryan got ready with their crews at the Thompson Washington DC Hotel. While they chose to have a small wedding party of just two members each, they also invited several of their closest friends to join them throughout the morning. Their morning was relaxed and filled with laughter, champagne, and joyful anticipation.
Monica & Ryan decided to skip a first look, which made their ceremony all the more meaningful. They saw each other for the first time as Monica walked down the aisle at the DC War Memorial, an iconic and intimate setting tucked along the National Mall. Monica’s uncle officiated the ceremony, adding a deeply personal touch, and the two exchanged the sweetest, most heartfelt vows in front of their loved ones.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds soaked in the moments, and the city, by wandering the National Mall for portraits. From the Lincoln Memorial to the Reflecting Pool and the World War II Memorial, their photos captured both the grandeur of DC and their undeniable joy.
Food is one of Monica & Ryan’s passions, so it was only fitting that their celebration continued at one of their favorite Michelin-starred restaurants, Rose’s Luxury on Capitol Hill. Guests were treated to a four-course tasting menu featuring some of the restaurant’s most beloved dishes. The evening unfolded with incredible food, warm toasts, a sweet first dance, and so much love.
Cheers to the McDowells!
